About our double shot PBT keycap sets. There are a couple of keycaps that are with "broken" stems. It's not a manufacturing flaw. It's designed this way. The reason behind it is that we want legends/text to be fully closed and a relatively affordable mold price.
There are a couple of methods to avoid this from happening:
1. change the legends. to make it not fully closed. It's widely adopted by a lot of manufacturers.
2. move the legends away from the stem, to make it slightly offset the center where the stem is.
3. use a different mold process that can only mold a small number of keycaps. that will increase the price of full set keycaps to about 100USD, that's one of the reasons why GMK keycaps are so expensive.
So what we choose is to place the legends at the center of the stem, cut cracks on at the bottom of the keycaps. It still grabs the switches firmly.
